There’s a pretty important kitty holiday around the corner. Take Your Cat To Work Day is June 20th! This is a pretty fun idea, and it actually does work for some. However, that doesn’t mean taking Fluffy to work is actually a good idea. In fact, for many people, it probably wouldn’t work out too well! A local Virginia Beach, VA vet lists some reasons to leave your pet at home in this article.
Our furry pals are very playful, which is one reason they’re such entertaining little pets. However, Fluffy’s habit of pouncing on people’s shoelaces may not go over very well at the office.
Allergies are quite common: in fact, as many as 40 percent of the population have some form. People are actually twice as likely to be allergic to cats as they are to dogs. If any of your coworkers have allergies, Fluffy’s presence could make them quite miserable!
Poor Job Skills
Cats may be great for morale, but at the end of the day, they probably aren’t going to be much help when it comes to getting things done. Fluffy will probably spend most of her shift knocking things onto the floor, stealing chairs, and, of course, napping on the job.
This is one of the biggest reasons to leave your furry overlord at home. Many of our feline patients are absolutely terrified of car rides! Kitties tend to be homebodies, and often get extremely distressed when being taken out of their kingdoms. Fluffy will likely be much more comfortable holding down the fort at home while you’re earning money for catnip and kitty litter.
This one is probably self-explanatory. Fluffy’s facilities just aren’t going to mesh well with many workplaces!
Our feline friends are very drowsy. It can be relaxing just watching Fluffy peacefully snoozing! Cat purrs also have a way of making people sleepy. It probably wouldn’t go over well if half the office followed Fluffy’s lead and fell asleep at their desks. Of course, you could also wind up with the opposite problem. Kitties are so cute and fun that people may spend more time petting and playing with your adorable little buddy than actually working.
