Did you know that February 20th is Love Your Pet Day? Of course, pets should feel loved every day. Our animal companions offer us unconditional friendship, devotion, and loyalty, not to mention live entertainment and cuddle therapy. This is a great reminder to pamper your pet a bit! Read on as a local Virginia Beach, VA vet suggests some ways to celebrate this special occasion.
If there’s one thing all of our animal companions agree on, it’s a love of treats. Pick up a yummy snack for your pet! Just stick to safe, suitable options.
Toys are both fun and beneficial for our four-legged friends. Buy or make a new plaything for your little (or not so little) buddy and indulge them with a fun play session.
We know, you really don’t need much of a reason to take cute pet photos. However, Love Your Pet Day is a perfect time to snap a few adorable pics of your furry best friend. If you’ve recently adopted a new pet, start a photo series, and add to it every Love Your Pet Day.
As far as our furry patients are concerned, comfy beds are one of life’s greatest luxuries. (Actually, we have to agree with them on this one.) Get your pet a new bed. Smaller pets, like Guinea pigs and hamsters, may appreciate a hammock, tent, or hidey-hole.
Do you have a streaming device? If so, you can actually add channels for Fido or Fluffy. Of course, your mileage may vary. While some dogs and cats seem to really enjoy watching television, others prefer to just look out the window and watch birds and squirrels.
Part of giving your pet great TLC is keeping up with their veterinary care needs. If your animal companion hasn’t been in for a while, let this be a reminder to schedule an appointment. Healthy pets are happy pets!
At the end of the day, the best way to make your pet feel loved is to simply pay attention to them. Enjoy a long walk with your dog, or let your kitty snooze on your lap. Smaller pets will enjoy some supervised time out of their cages.
Please reach out to us, your local Virginia Beach, VA vet clinic, for all of your pet’s veterinary care needs. We are always happy to help!
